# MiyaIP proxy setup and troubleshooting FAQ

> Find answers about MiyaIP network requirements, supported proxy protocols, exit IP checks, available locations, referrals, and setup problems.

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Why can't I access the internet with the proxy service?">
    Check your product and proxy mode first. A **native proxy** requires your own working overseas connection as the first network layer before the MiyaIP native node. See each residential proxy product's tutorial for its network requirements.

    Configure a **relay proxy** using the appropriate relay tutorial. See [proxy modes](/proxy-types) for the two static proxy connection methods and the [tutorial guide](/introduction) for client setup.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Which protocols do the proxies support?">
    MiyaIP proxies support [SOCKS5, HTTP, and HTTPS](/guides/protocols). In your proxy tool, choose the protocol that matches the details you retrieved from the dashboard. Enter the host, port, username, and password from that same configuration.

    If you cannot retrieve proxy details, contact online support through the [MiyaIP website](https://miyaip.com/).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Why isn't the proxy address the final exit IP?">
    The proxy uses tunnel forwarding. The proxy address entered in your client is the connection entry point; websites see the final exit IP.

    For a static proxy, compare the detected exit IP with the static IP you purchased. The relay host is used to establish the connection. See [proxy modes](/proxy-types) for details.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="How can I check the proxy exit from the command line?">
    In a Windows terminal, use `curl.exe` and select the command for the protocol you retrieved from the dashboard. Replace `proxy.example.com`, `1234`, `YOUR_USERNAME`, and `YOUR_PASSWORD` with the host, port, username, and password from the same proxy configuration.

    <CodeGroup>
      ```shell HTTP proxy theme={null}
      curl.exe --proxy "http://proxy.example.com:1234" --proxy-user "YOUR_USERNAME:YOUR_PASSWORD" "https://ipinfo.io"
      ```

      ```shell SOCKS5 proxy theme={null}
      curl.exe --proxy "socks5h://proxy.example.com:1234" --proxy-user "YOUR_USERNAME:YOUR_PASSWORD" "https://ipinfo.io"
      ```
    </CodeGroup>

    `http://` selects an HTTP proxy; `socks5h://` selects a SOCKS5 proxy. For an HTTPS proxy, use an `https://` proxy address that matches your dashboard protocol and a curl build with HTTPS proxy support. See the [official curl documentation](https://curl.se/docs/manpage.html) for protocol options.

    If the proxy does not require authentication, remove `--proxy-user`. On macOS or Linux, replace `curl.exe` with `curl`. After running the command, inspect the returned IP and region to check the actual exit.

  <Accordion title="Does the MiyaIP referral program provide ongoing rewards?">
    The referral program does not limit the reward period and offers ongoing earnings. Refer a new user who registers and places an order to receive a **10% commission**.

    Actual eligibility, commission rates, and settlement rules follow the current referral program details in your dashboard.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Which countries and regions do MiyaIP proxies cover?">
    Coverage includes major countries and regions in the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Southeast Asia. Check the location options for your product to see currently available locations. The latest dashboard list determines actual coverage.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="What business use cases are MiyaIP proxies suitable for?">
    Common use cases include brand protection, ad verification, website testing, stock market data, market research, crawling and indexing, email protection, and SEO monitoring and optimization.

    For help choosing a proxy type, contact online support through the [MiyaIP website](https://miyaip.com/) or browse the [product tutorials](/introduction).
